In my opinion, you should deal with the seller directly with out an agent only if you know the seller personally. Say you want to purchase a house from another IVan, you can do that with out a middleman (Realtor) :)
But you would still need a settlement agency and a lawyer (usually arranged by the settlement agency). And it is advisable to get the loan thru a loan agent.
So what is the roler of a broker/ real estate agent for a buyer.
If I choose to deal directly with the seller, what are the things I need to do myself and can you explain the "attorney" part that you mentioned.
Thanks

How reliable is this Tracker(or any) data? I don't think all the registered people who gets their GC would come back and change the status of their application to 'Approved' in the Tracker. Though its better than nothing but still data is too vague to derive any real conclusion.
Here are two quotes from the Greatest thinker of all times :p-
'The quality of the output of any system is as good as the quality of the input'
- by sanju on IV in 2009
'Any system is as good as the humans operating that system'
- by sanju on IV in 2009
I guess it means we all have to continously do our little part.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to consult with an Attorney.
I wanted to get other valuable opinions.
Congratulations...
I don't think your EB2 was automatically ported. This approval is one of the USCIS's unknown GC processing strategy. I have known two cases in EB3 got approved when PD's were in "Unavailable", Yes, its for EB3-I.
Don't think too much, have a professional advise and Enjoy your freedom.

Now I feel like they are just holding mine. LOL. Good to know.
My application received: Dec 2
Check cashes: Dec 7
Status: Initial Review
Expedite Request file: Jan 14th
I paper filed AP at TSC on Dec 14 ( Renewal)
Check cashed on Dec 16
Ap received on Jan 9
Total : 3 weeks
Paper filing works better for AP at TSC.
( I had a bad experience when I E-filed at TSC last time.)

Granted the employer may not deduct the attorney fees post filing, does that also necessarily mean the employee should not be required to pay up front?
Yes, it's indirect deduction.

Gurus,
I need help please!
My employer applied for my H1B renewal very close to the expiration of my first H1B and I was told today that they got back the application becuase they made a mistake on the check. unfortunalty, they got back the application after my first H1B expired. They sent back the application with the right check and we have not heard anything yet. Am I ok or am I in a big trouble? Please, help! Thank you all.

My PD is Sept 2005 and EB3 India. With the new company I can file EB2. What will be your recommendation?
Keep in mind the consequences of the new bill. Any I-140s filed after May 21 (or 15 depends where you are reading) will be invalidated. If I was you and my PD is current, I would take the risk and hang in there, get I-485 filed and bite the bullet for 6 months or 1 year (again depending on how the bill turns out)

BTW....one can now apply directly to NSC or TSC as per the state they are applying from. This memo became effective June 21 and is mandatory starting July 30.
see http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/UpdateDirectFiling062107.pdf
So there is now a choice till July 30 for everybody's kind information!
Just wanted to add to this post.
Though the effective date for "Direct filing" is July 30th, USCIS also mention that they will not reject any applications received in NSC until August 29th 2007.. This provides some more time. something to keep in mind while sending application.

Just in-case one gets layed-off and has an EAD, can that person buy a 7-Eleven or a Gas Station?
Can the EAD holder actually run the gas station/7-eleven by working/being present there? (Maybe he/she can work there and take all the profit but no salary).
What happens if there is an RFE asking for proof of employment during this period?

The bigger problem is that your parents visa has already been rejected twice and that would be in their database. And that was when your parents were working. Now they are also retired which also adds another complication since the visa officers look to see if the people who a asking for a visitors visa have anything left in India to come back to ( like real estate , good bank balances , jobs , family etc )
I don't think it matters much if you are sponsering them or they are paying for it themselves.. its the twice visa denial in past that might be the key.

I know this is not a good question as there is no time frame for GC process?
But please share your experience;
How many years it could take to get GC if it is started with in Aug. 2008 for
-EB2 category
-EB3 category
I am trying to understand the time (years) difference between two process.
Thanks,
Sanjeev.

Great Job vine93. In addition to telling your story of sufferings, disappointmenst becsue of the retrogression also get some talking points from IV maybe Pappu can provide you some, not that you need any, everyone of our sufferings are talking points by themselves. Please convey them how people from India are waiting for 10+ years without any chance of GC in sight and have to wait for another decade or so to get there green card. Good luck, I have called my congressman and vented my frustrtaion at how people from India china are suffering because of country quota and because of recapture of visas not happenning.
Congressman scheduled a meeting for Family and Employment based victims. I had a talk with their office , they would like to listen individual stories at the hall. I am planning to attend this tomorrow. CO state chapter please join this .
